Jazz Band

The Jazz Band is a unique ensemble that focuses specifically on the jazz idiom of music. There is continuously an emphasis on playing fundamentals in addition to the added element of jazz improvisation.  Students in this ensemble engage in small combo instrumentation groups in addition to standardized big band arrangements. The Jazz Band students also receive a variety of experiences ranging from private performances, coffeehouse performances, and adjudicated festivals featuring prominent jazz artists.
